" America's Most Wanted," one of television's longest-running and most respected programs, has been responsible for the capture of more than 700 fugitives and the recovery of more than two dozen stranger-abducted missing children. Hosted by John Walsh, a co-founder of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the show has been dedicated to fighting crime and broadcasting pictures of missing children since its inception in 1988. The show's passion for justice stems from John Walsh's own tragedy in 1981, when his son Adam was abducted and murdered. "America's Most Wanted" has worked closely with NCMEC to locate missing children, vigorously promote child safety issues, and educate the country about the need for immediate media attention for any child who has gone missing. "America's Most Wanted" airs at 9:00 pm Eastern and Pacific time (8:00 pm Central) on the Fox Network. In September of 2002, John Walsh also began work with NBC as host of The John Walsh Show, where he continues to fight for victims and discuss timely news topics.
